Fallen Heroes Series - Robert Foti/FDNY
"Before he was an Angel, Hero, Fireman ... He was my Son. He was a Grandson, Brother, Nephew, Cousin, Husband, Son in Law, Father, Uncle, Friend, and Neighbor." ~ Rose Foti
Robert's coin was one of the rare exception coins. Our Canadian heroes were behind the minting of this one. (With an amazing step up by our friend, Lloyd Stading, who paid to have these coins made. Class act, Lloyd!)
*There were 200 coins released, at the IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Colorado Springs, Colorado. By week's end, they were gone!

Fallen Heroes Series - US Forestry Officer Shane Wyrsch
Shane's coin was presented officially at PackOut '08, to his wife Zoe & their two young sons, Marcus & Kye.
As a tribute to Shane, several of his fellow officers made the extra effort of matching their badge number to their coin number. Shane was very much respected, and is very much missed.

Wounded Heroes Series - USMC LCpl Matthew Luke
The coin you see is different from the photo originally submitted.
During the creation of this coin we got to know Matthew's mom, Shawn. She spoke about how BOTH of her sons, Matthew & Devin, had been deployed together when Matthew was wounded. She spoke of how Devin was like a guardian angel over Matt's shoulder. It only seemed right to honor both of these young heroes in the minting of the Luke coin.

Canadian Fallen Heroes Series - RCMP Constable Doug Scott
This coin was the first of the Canadian Series. It was released along with RCMP Constable Christopher Worden It was the first coin to bear the Canadian-American logo, marking our partnership with Canada in the combined effort of troop morale by all of our first responders.
Coincidentally, Doug's brother Chad is an up and coming firefighter studying at Lambton Fire College. This was a wonderful family to deal with and we thank them for their outstanding support during their own trying times.

Canadian Fallen Heroes Series - RCMP Constable Christopher Worden
We are proud to have done Constable Worden's coin and presented it to the family. Sadly there is no tribute in this medium that can do true honour to the likenesss of our Fallen Heroes. Constable Worden was a very handsome young man, too young to have been lost in this way. Our hearts go out to his family and we hope that they cherish not only his memory but the small tokens of respect and appreciation done in his name and memory.
Constable Worden's coin was the second to be minted with the combined flag logo, honouring Canada, then America.

Want to nominate a Hero to be honored?
To be considered for a coin, a nominee must:
-
Have performed selflessly in the effort of positive Troop morale via HeroToHero.US
-
Earned the respect, and thusly been nominated by their department/agency/unit.
-
Fallen in the Line of Duty ... whether it be First Responder, or Military.
-
Been wounded in the Line of Duty ... whether First Responder, or Military.
If this sounds like someone you know, e-mail us at: HeroShirts@aol.com
Please note: We do the coins in a cyclical order ...
VERY IMPORTANT!!! Please realize that while every attempt is made to honor these heroes, only God will every recreate them as we all remember them. This is a 3-D replication from a photograph. It is meant as a tribute, not an identical likeness - Sadly, the technology does not exist to make that happen in this day and age. And if it did, it would be so far out of a realistic price range for us to make happen.
To get an idea of the possibilities, look at the coins that have been minted to date.
When nominating a Hero for one of these honors, there are things you can do to help. One is glasses; -- If the person wears glasses, they do not translate well, try using a photo without the glasses, if possible.
--Shadows can cause problems. Try to chose a photo that drop NOT accentuate double chins, etc., as these can come across emphasized.
--Some hats are issues. Remember, this is a VERY small space for the photo. The more outside details, the less facial focus. However, most people want their loved one honored in their uniform and if the hat is a pivotal part of the uniform, it should be there. Again, this is a representative likeness, NOT exact ... Weigh out the pros & cons.
--You want to get us the highest resolution you can. And be prepared with an alternative photo.
**To get an idea of how a photo will translate, use a graphics program & do a line drawing version of the photo intended for the coin. It will be an outline in most instances.
