Fallen Heroes Series - USFO -LEO Shane Wyrsch

RELEASE DATE: MAR. 08, 2008

On June 23, 1971 no one knew how much a newborn baby boy from Brooklyn New York named Shane would impact all of the lives he would come in contact with over the next 35 years.  Shane was raised in North Bend, Washington where his love of football began.  Shane attended Central Washington University where he received his bachelor's degree in Law and Justice.  Shane was captain of the football team and inside linebacker.  Inside linebackers are often referred to as t he most versatile players and are considered the heart and soul of the defense.  This would prove to be very true throughout Shane's life and as a federal law enforcement officer for the USFS.  Shane was awarded federal law enforcement officer of the year for 2007 honoring him for his bravery in law enforcement.  Staying true to his linebacker lineage Shane was always there to back up his team members from the USFS, State Patrol, Enumclaw PD, Sheriff's Department and many others.  Shane was devoted to his family and loved them with all of his heart.  He will be greatly missed by his wife Zoë and two sons, Marcus and Kye.  You see, Shane was a big man in both heart and physical size.  Maybe it's fitting that he's a New Yorker, because his gleaming smile kind heart and compassion towered over everything when he was present.  Like his peers in the Towers, Shane was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need.  Shane was truly cut from the fabric of heroes.  Shane will forever be remembered as a hero's hero and helper to all.
