State of the program report ...

Greetings from Hero To Hero

Hey all,
We appreciate all of your support over the past 7 years - boy, time flies, eh?

We are very proud to let you know that there are well over 30,000 troops around the world who have gotten the shirt off the back of an emergency first responder via Hero To Hero.

We are proud to let you know that our hometown tours encompassed the distance of twice around the equator ... Every mile driven under our own steam.

We are proud of the many messages we've received from the troops to say what a difference it meant in their morale.

And we are proud of every one of you who have been/are a part of the Hero To Hero Troop Morale Campaign.

Buuuut ...
Funny thing, it seemed to have happened about the time the economy turned around here in the states ... T-shirt donations and Pledges fell off sharply!!! We are now in jeopardy with the stateside program as not enough Pledges have come in to make the campaign viable.

This is not just about our program. The wars have continued for so long that sadly, public, corporate, and media interest appears to have waned. It is so much more difficult to get support as this goes on. We work far harder with far fewer and far less to do the same as we have in the past. Many programs have gone away because of this ... We don't want to.

We are not the group to give up easily, so we are making a last ditch SERIOUS pitch to every first responder to help us keep from closing this program in the states.

We have a pledge map where all of the hometowns that have Pledged, are posted ... http://www.facebook.com/l/9228f;www.communitywalk.com/pledge/first_responder_pledges/map/454153

As you can see, we cannot publish this map for the troops to make their requests as we/I will NOT take the chance that ANY troop looks and comes away with the impression that their own hometown does not support them.

So PLEASE, if you are a first responder and your hometown is not on the map ... Take a minute and Pledge! If you're civilian and want to help, get this link to your local first responders and let them know that this is for your own hometown desert-deployed troops ... http://www.facebook.com/l/9228f;www.herotohero.citymax.com/PLEDGE.html

If you're in Canada ... The donations of shirts declined a bit and Team Canada could use an assist as well. Contact: mchargs@xcelco.on.ca

We CAN make a difference in the morale of our American & Canadian desert-deployed troops, but we NEED your help.

We make it possible, but YOU make it happen. Help us help!
